...Is this a Magazine?

Stumbled across this article in the New York Times today and realized that the space it referred to was one that Swoon had covered in issue two--we did a sleazy photo shoot in the remnants of what used to be an alleged sex club (replete with an empty pool and back shower rooms) that was tucked away in this empty warehouse in Chelsea. The rest of the space was amazing--it was taken over by a collective group of artists who had single-handedly transformed the space into a work of art itself. I remember there was a wall separating an artist's studio from the rest of the area fashioned entirely out of books. Sad that it doesn't exist anymore...although it's nice to know it's still existing in some evolved version of its former self, I suppose. The funny thing was the glimmer of recognition that initially attracted me to the article in the first place: its headline which read "No Windows, No Heat, No Staff, No Rent. Is This a Gallery?"

Hell Yeah!
